Environmental Education and Awareness Program

Environment and Social Development Association (ESDA) organized Environmental Education & Awareness Program in association with DSR Education Welfare Society in DSR Public School, Dhoom-Dadri Gautambudh Nagar, U. P. on September 16, 2017.

The Chief Speaker was Dr. Jitendra K Nagar, General Secretary of ESDA and Scientist of Vallabhbhi Patel Chest Institute, University of Delhi. He appraised about 350 students and 20 faculty members about present environmental issues and steps students can undertake to tackle them. He highlighted the issue of rampant submersible pumps in the district and requested the students to take adequate action. Major Roop Singh Nagar guided the students towards becoming strong leaders in life and the importance of being disciplined. Dr. Meena from Ambedkar College University of Delhi discussed about natural and manmade disasters. Dr. Umesh Kumar from Department of Biochemistry of Delhi University mentioned the relation between chemicals and cancers. Ms Sonali Julka from Wipro suggested the students about time management and gave tips on studying. Dr. Geetanjali Kaushik from World Resource Institute guided the students about the Head, Heart and Hands approach to become environmental champions. Mr. Madan Panchal from Media congratulated the students for their posters and also felicitated them with cash prize. Shri Daneshwar Rana, Chairman of DSR Education Welfare Society and Mrs. Poonam Dixit, Principal of DSR Public School delivered vote of thanks for ESDA team.
