International Workshop on 24 – 25 September 2018 at Amity University, Noida, U. P.
On the occasion of Ozone Day and World Environment Health Day, Environment and Social Development Association (ESDA) Delhi organized an International Workshop focusing on Environment, Climate Change and Impact on Human Health as a collaborative with Amity University Noida on 24-25 September 2018 at F-3 Seminar Hall, Amity University, Noida, Gautam Budh Nagar, U. P. First day, the workshop was divided in two sessions and various lectures were organized by the well renowned key speakers from various institutes. Second day, various sessions were organized to aware & encourage the youth about the key issues & courses of the environment. The workshop provides the excellent interaction platform to the students and researches to come under the one roof with the best mentors of the area.
On day 1, the workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President of Amity University and they highlight the key environment issues and encourage the young generation to come forward and take initiatives in this direction. The introduction of workshop and keynote lecture on “Ozone layer depletion, indoor air pollution, use of chemicals and health impacts” was delivered by Prof. Tanu Jindal, Director of Amity Institute of Environmental Sciences, Amity University. The first session was addressed by various honorable speakers like Dr. Markandey Rai from UN Habitat Delhi, Dr Papiya Mandal, Scientist from CSIR-NEERI Delhi, Prof. Arun Sharma, Director of Department of Community Medicine from GTB Hospital Delhi, Mr. Swarup Mishra, Senior-Consultant from ERM Gurgaon, Prof. Javed Ahmed, President from NESA and this session was ended by the Dr. Jitendra K Nagar, General Secretary of Environment and Social Development Association (ESDA) Delhi.
The Second session was addressed by H. E. Daniel Chuburu, Ambassador of the Argentine Republic, H. E. Augusto Montiel, Ambassador of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Dr. M. P. George, Scientist D from DPCC Delhi, Prof. Umesh Kulshrestha from School of Environmental Science, JNU Delhi. Brief talks on environmental challenges were address by Dr. Priyanka Kulshreshtha from IPCA Delhi and Dr Srinavas Ravindra, Director of Centre for Sustainable Development, Bangalore speck out about the efforts needed to resolve the challenges. The session was carried forward with the open panel discussion. In the end of session, Dr. Sunita Singh, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Amity University felicitated the speakers and dignitaries.
On day 2, various sessions were organized by Green skill academy, Amity University and Environment and Social Development Association (ESDA) on short and long duration courses to resolve the key environmental challenges and green entrepreneurship program. At the end of the workshop Amity Students shows up the initiatives taken by them in this direction. The highly energetic and knowledgeable workshop was successfully organized and well executed. This workshop was proved to be very resourceful and informative for all the participants.
